In the ACM Turing centenary, Ken Thompson said:

Ken Thompson: The future of OS is just a stream to the cloud. Doesn’t see “universal cloud computer” Companies will try to dominate

This is so similar to the quote attributed to Thomas J. Watson (“I think there is a world market for maybe five computers”) that I could not help asking.
